Your Transit Number, Financial Institution Number and Account Number
If you have a cheque, your full account information is found along the bottom. The sample cheque image below shows you where to find Transit (Branch) Number, Financial Institution Number and Account Number.
Transit (Branch) Number:
Your branch transit number is a 5-digit number comprised of your 4-digit branch number, followed by a number at the end of your branch number indicating the geographical location of your branch.
Financial Institution Number (Bank Code):
The financial institution number for TD Canada Trust is 004.
If your account number only has 6 digits but a form requires 7, simply add a 0 to the front. For example, 123456 becomes 0123456.
