How do I decline money sent to me using INTERAC e-Transfer?

When you are sent money using Interac e-Transfer® you will receive notification from Interac by email or SMS text message (only if email or mobile number was included).

When money is sent to you using the Interac e-Transfer® service, you will be prompted to provide an answer to a security question

To decline the transfer:

  • Select the Interac email / SMS text message and select TD to log into EasyWeb / TD app
  • Enter the correct answer to the Security Question
  • Select 'Decline'

That's it! You have declined the transfer, and the sender will be notified by email and/or text that the Interac e-Transfer was declined.

Please note, if you have set up Autodeposit or receive a Direct to Account transaction, you cannot decline the transaction as the money will be deposited directly to your account.
