How to deposit funds to your Canadian account while travelling abroad
You can send funds for deposit to your TD Canada Trust account from overseas by cheque, draft or wire transfer.
- Mail cheques or drafts: Inscribe "For Deposit Only" and the branch and account number on the back of the cheque or draft, then mail directly to the branch that holds your account. Please note: Only cheques payable to you will be deposited (no third-party items will be accepted), and the branch may place a hold on a draft or personal cheque until it is cleared.
- Request a wire transfer: A wire payment usually arrives at its destination more quickly than a draft or personal cheque, but the sending institution may charge a fee for the wire.
>> If you would like to learn more about fees associated with sending and receiving a wire payment please visit the About our accounts and related services (PDF) document under the "TD Service Fee Schedule" section.
