How do I fund a TD Direct Investing account?

Funding your TD Direct Investing account is quick and easy so you can start investing online.  

Depositing from your TD Canada Trust Account

1.   On WebBroker

      Go to Accounts (on top left) > Transfers & Withdrawals >> Transfer Cash within TD, including contributions and TFSA withdrawals 

 

2.   On EasyWeb

       Make a Transfer >> select appropriate accounts

       Note: You can also convert between Canadian and U.S. dollars using the Transfer function. Watch our video for a step-by-step guide. 

 

Depositing from other Financial Institution(s) using Interac e-Transfer®

You can now transfer up to your daily limit from your account(s) at other financial institutions (OFI) to your TD Direct Investing cash or margin account(s) using Interac e-Transfer®

1.   On WebBroker

      Go to Accounts (on top left) > Transfers & Withdrawals >>  Transfer cash in from outside TD (Interac e-Transfer)

      Disclosure

      Instant transfers can usually be made Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM ET. Any requests made after 8:00 PM, on weekends or holidays will be processed the following business day.

      If your financial institution chooses to hold the funds, it may take up to 24 hours to process the transaction. Please contact your financial institution if money has been withdrawn but not yet deposited.

 

2.   On TD Mobile App

      Go to your TD Direct Investing account > at the Quick Actions Menu at the top > scroll to the right and select Fund 

 

3.   Bill Payment

      If you do not use Interac e-Transfer® and/or wish to deposit over $3000CAD in a single transfer, submit a bill payment from your OFI bank account.

      For more information on how to set up, please contact your financial institution. 

      Note: bill payment may take up to 5 business days to post the fund on your TD Direct Investing account.
