How do I open a Registered Educational Savings Plan (RESP) account at TD Direct Investing?
To open an RESP account, visit a TD Canada Trust branch. A TD Representative will help you to complete the forms. There is a total of three forms; four if you are a resident of British Columbia or Saskatchewan:
- Account Application form
- RESP Family Plan form
- CESG Application
- B.C. Grant Application BCTESG form – annex D only for British Columbia residents
- SAGES Grant Application SAGES annex C - only for Saskatchewan residents. Note that this grant program has been suspended. However, the form can still be completed and can be used if the program is reinstated.
TD Direct Investing offers only an RESP family plan, which means that the beneficiary must have a direct relationship through blood or adoption with the subscriber opening the plan A family plan can accommodate more than one beneficiary on the plan so that a family with several children can open one plan covering all children.
