What is a trading authority?
A TD Direct Investing Trading Authority (TA) is someone who has been designated to conduct trades on behalf of the account holder for the named account(s). The designated TA is only permitted to execute trades on the account; they cannot direct the movement of money in to or out of the account.
To add a TD Direct Investing TA to your personal TD Direct Investing account, complete the Trading Authorization form and provide photo ID for the appointed TA. Visit your nearest TD Direct Investing location or TD Canada Trust branch to submit.
To remove a previously appointed TA from your personal TD Direct Investing account, visit your nearest TD Direct Investing location or TD Canada Trust branch and provide a signed letter of direction (detailing your request to remove the named individual). Ensure you include all impacted account numbers.
